Hey, I'm Claire Solomon, Akashic records practitioner, business strategist and astrology and human design nerd. And this is the Kinda Cosmic podcast. Down to Earth chats about out of this world stuff. We'll talk akashic insight, astrology, starseeds, cosmic intel, soul purpose, and all the strange, beautiful ways the universe shows up in everyday life. No fluff, just real talk about being a soul in a human body. 

Well, hey there, friend. Today I wanted to dive into a topic I get asked about all the time because the names and the way people refer to the concept sound so similar and interchangeable, but they are not the same thing. And that is your soul group of origin versus your soul group. See? What? Sounds exactly the same thing, no? 

But I'm going to break down the key difference and why both are so interesting to dig into and to understand about ourselves. In the simplest of terms, your soul group of origin is one of the cool things I research for my clients in the Akashic Records. And this is like your cosmic hometown. It's where your soul had its very first incarnation ever. Your original postcode. It's where you were born. So in the very beginning, we are all part of the same source, same energy, same rainbow, sparkly mist, wherever we were, whatever that looked like.

But at some point, our soul got the opportunity to break away from this mega source energy and experience itself in an individual form. And at that point, our soul gets to make a choice. Am I going to Earth or am I going somewhere else in the galaxy and beyond as my first experience of being in this individual form? Now, 75% of people here on Earth now are what we call Earth souls. So they chose Earth at that point of deciding where to go for the first incarnation ever, and have been coming back here ever since, maybe traveling around to other star systems and things in between lives. But Earth is effectively their hometown. Yeah. Then there is the 25% of us that when deciding where we wanted to go as our first ever incarnation, we said, yeah, nah, not Earth. No thanks.

And these are the starseeds, the star travelers, those whose soul group of origin or their hometown is another star system, planet, galaxy. And if you are one of these starseeds, the 25%, Earth therefore can feel a bit weird because it's not your comfy hometown that is so familiar and energetically comfortable. It's hectic here. You're literally traveling through, visiting Earth, not from here or born here. You're of course learning - Earth is the best for that. And you come here with a specific mission, but it's not your original birthplace or hometown. There are 23 universally agreed upon soul groups of origin that we collectively have validated enough facts and resonance around. So if you are a starseed - where your soul group of origin is not Earth - it will be one of these 23 places.

You may have heard of some of these, like Pleiadian Spican, Arcturian, Blueprinters, Andromedans (that's me. Hi. Hello), Alpha Fornacians. And each of these have very distinct qualities, traits, soul gifts, missions, frequency, the whole lot. And as you were born there, these are the things you can't easily switch off within yourself. They are woven into your literal soul fabric. These are the cool things you bring with you everywhere you go into every earthly life, because the environment you grew up in energetically shapes your soul. Right? 

For example, Spican starseeds are the visionaries, and they're all about bettering themselves. Deeply intuitive, really, really energy sensitive, can kind of read between the lines of what somebody is saying to the deep core of things they're not afraid to get stuck in and actually figure out how to evolve. Alpha Fornacian starseeds have great emotional depth. They're natural healers, and their empathy is really their superpower. Once they know it, understand it, and can use it. Andromedan starseeds are freedom seekers, rebel system busters, big picture thinkers. Just to give you a few examples of the nuances. Right? 

So that is what your soul group of origin is, where you were first born, Earth, or one of these other 23 star systems. And regardless of whatever that answer is, know that it makes up a huge chunk of what your purpose on Earth is right now.

Then we have your soul group. And this is a totally different thing. This is basically your soul crew. It's a huge rotating cast of souls that you incarnate with again and again, lifetime after lifetime. And this is not cosmic location, hometown, soul group of origin based. This is soul relationship and soul contract based. And your soul group has around 3,000 souls in it.

So it's not just your family and your close friends. It includes everyone you have any emotional charge towards. Any memories, experiences, encounters. It's your family, your partner, your ex partners. Yes, all of them. Friends, enemies, teachers, random people who changed your direction in life and then were never seen again. Authors, cranky shopkeepers that upset you when you were a child and made you think about kindness. Strangers in inverted commas that you don't even know their name, but you overheard them saying something on a bus once, and it led you to buying the book that they were talking about. Basically, anyone with impact, resonance, or friction and frustration in your whole entire life, and your life yet to come is part of those 3,000 plus souls that make up your soul group.

And these 3,000 souls are not going to all be from your soul group of origin or your original hometown at all. That is a big distinction. But side note, when starseeds meet each other, there's definitely a quiet, unspoken moment of soul recognition, like, oh, you're not from here either. And when souls from the same group of origin, like Pleiadians, Arcturians meet, it's like a deeper wow, you know, acknowledgement moment. Like, hey, we're both here on this strange planet together and we carry these specific codes from our home. Cool. But your big old soul group is made up of Earth souls, starseed souls from all sorts of other places. Some people may have been your spirit guides in other lifetimes, and they are incarnating with you in a body this time.

Some you have been married to 14 times. And now they may be your elderly neighbour who you have this deep connection with. And you are dropping them meals around. Some have been your children, your absolute rivals, your biggest tests, your best friends in other lifetimes. Some have been your teachers or you have been their teachers. It's a whole tapestry. And the purpose really is this. You're not just randomly bumping into 3,000 souls every lifetime. You have all agreed to help each other grow and evolve, which is all this Earth game is about. And sometimes that help looks loving and supportive, sometimes it looks like conflict and contrast. Because at a soul level of learning, both of those things, both of those polarities work absolutely perfectly as catalysts, right? 

But the purpose of your soul group is always, always, always, ultimately soul growth for all of you. And the thing that I love about this whole thing is that when we pass over to the afterlife, on average, even though there's no such thing as time over there, that's a human thing we like somehow manufactured. But in human understanding, when we die, we stay dead for 50 to 75 earthly years on average. And we are busy little bees over there, having whole careers on the other side, studying, hanging out, etc. 

But the other reason is we tend to wait for our whole soul group, those 3,000 souls to complete their lives. And then we regroup in the afterlife and decide on, right, who's going back to Earth? What role shall we play in each other's lives this time? What do you want to learn? What life lesson, of which there are 84, do you want to work on and how can I help you achieve that? Do you want me to play a goodie or a baddie in your life to learn that? Who might want to stay back and be one of our spirit guides for us? Perhaps your bestest friend in this life will agree to be your horrible brother in the next life because that dynamic will help you learn tolerance or boundaries of what you will and won't accept in relationships. Like if they were your bestest friend again, you might miss out on the growth available via that brother-sister dynamic, for example. But essentially the group gathers, susses the curriculum for the next Earth school intake, figures out shared lessons and experiences together, works out the best complementary and conflicting roles, and zooms on in together again. 

So I hope that helps explain the difference of why your soul group and your soul group of origin are not the same thing. Your soul group of origin never changes. Your soul group changes slightly lifetime to lifetime, but the core crew stays. Your soul group includes souls from many origins, Earth, Spican, Pleiadian - you incarnate together because your life lessons intersect in some way, you have agreed contracted roles in each other's lives. Your growth and evolution is linked to each other, not because you come from the same cosmic hometown or soul group of origin. 

Ultimately, your soul group of origin explains your individual, deepest soul gifts, your sensitivities, your energetic tendencies, your soul's mission and your baseline frequency. Your soul group explains your relationship patterns, your triggers, your karmic contracts, your recurring challenges, your lifetime themes or lessons with certain people, why some people feel instantly familiar or instantly irritating to you, and why other people feel like immediate teachers or catalysts, or like you've crossed paths at exactly the right time. 

And when you deeply understand both, you can understand the bigger picture of why you're here and who you chose to walk this life time with. A fun thing to play with after this episode is to notice how wide your soul group really is. The 3,000 plus souls you travel with aren't just the people closest to you, they are the ripple effects, the chance encounters, the strangers who shift you in tiny ways without even having a conversation with them. It's a bit wild when you start seeing how interconnected all of our lives actually are. So just for funsies, notice who pops into your world this week. The good, the awkward, the frustrating, the random. With a soul group of 3,000, chances are at least one of these people has known you for centuries.
